2026 SpringBloodDrive

We are excited to partner with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive on Saturday, April 11. The drive will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose room. We know the Cameron Station community is generous, compassionate, and always ready to step up when there’s a need; this is one of those moments. A single blood donation can help save more than one life, and together we can make a powerful impact!

According to the American Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds. Those donations help save lives every day—from trauma and accident victims to cancer patients, premature infants, and people living with chronic illnesses. About 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed every single day, and although nearly 40% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, only about 3% actually do. That’s a huge gap, and it means every single donor truly makes a substantial difference. You can learn more about the critical need for blood donations directly from the American Red Cross here: Blood Facts & Statistics

By participating in the Blood Drive, you are helping patients right here in Northern Virginia and throughout the greater DMV region. Blood collected by the American Red Cross supports local hospitals including Inova Health System hospitals, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Virginia Hospital Center, and Children’s National Hospital. Because blood and platelets cannot be manufactured, the blood supply depends entirely on volunteer donors. It’s a simple act of generosity that can make an extraordinary difference for someone in need.

We hope you will mark your calendars and roll up your sleeve on Saturday April 11. Donors of all blood types are needed. Appointments are strongly encouraged to help the day run smoothly and ensure you are able to donate. Let’s see if we can fill every appointment slot and show what the Cameron Station community can do! 💪🩸
