September brings a mix of fun and feel-good reasons to celebrate! From milkshakes to miniature golf, there's something for everyone this month. Few celebrations, however, feel more fitting for our community than Good Neighbor Day. In Cameron Station, being a good neighbor is simply how we live, and this month offers a perfect reminder to appreciate those everyday connections. Thanks to our own good neighbor, Carla Besosa, for sharing another creative and playful lineup of days to enjoy.
9/5 Be Late for Something Day - a.k.a. (in my family) Puerto Rican Time, a more relaxed approach to punctuality.
9/6 Fight Procrastination Day - I'll celebrate if I get around to it.
9/7 Salami Day - Try a good soppressata, known for its rich, savory flavor and slightly spicy kick.
9/12 Chocolate Milkshake Day - New, in Old Town, The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar (716 King St).
9/13 Positive Thinking Day - This should be every day! A must for survival!
9/16 Guacamole Day - I'd hit Taqueria Picoso, Dos Jefes, or Helena's. Not that other places don't make good guacamole; It's just that I strongly prefer supporting the sole proprietor. (Puerto Rican pronunciation: wak-uh-MOH-leh)
9/21 Miniature Golf Day - If you go to Rudy's Golf, on S. Van Dorn, you also have a sports bar on the premises.
9/24 Punctuation Day - Let's eat Grandma. Let's eat, Grandma. Punctuation saves lives!
9/28 Good Neighbor Day - In Cameron Station, this is every day!
