Cameron Station Community Association Website Policy

The Cameron Station Website and Technology Committee of the Cameron Station Community Association (CSCA) has adopted this policy to set forth the guidelines under which information may be posted on the Cameron Station website. This policy was approved by the CSCA Board of Directors on 8/22/01 and addresses the authority to approve postings, appropriate website content and advertisements. This policy will be reviewed no less frequently than annually by the committee for its continued relevance to the community.

Neither the CSCA nor any of its members makes any warranty, expressed or implied; or, assumes any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information, product or process disclosed; or, represents that its use would not infringe privately owned rights. Reference on the website to any specific products, process or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer or otherwise does not necessarily constitute or imply its endorsement or recommendation by CSCA. The opinions of the website authors do not necessarily state or reflect those of the CSCA and shall not be used for advertising or product endorsement purposes.

The CSCA Board of Directors reserves the right to exclude content from the website.

I. Purpose of Website

This website is the official website of the CSCA and is designed and maintained for the residents, owners and visitors.

II. Website Content

A. Public section of website
Acceptable content is that which favorably promotes the community as determined by the Board, the Committee, or the Website Administrator. Examples include, but are not restricted to, information that facilitates (a) visitors locating the community, (b) potential home buyers exploring the amenities of the community and the surrounding area. The public section of the website also provides a portal to the Resident/Member section of the website.

B. Resident/Member section of website
Acceptable content is that which provides a service to the residents/members of the CSCA as determined by the Board, the Committee, or the Website Administrator. Postings are only accepted from CSCA residents/members. Postings are accepted free of charge and can be utilized for such purposes as car pools, lost and found and resident clubs. Postings from individuals not directly associated with the CSCA Board of Directors or its authorized committees must be clearly identified as such; these postings must provide a service to the residents/members of the CSCA. The CSCA is not responsible for the content of such postings, nor do the postings necessarily reflect the opinions of the CSCA.

Surveys may be conducted on the website only by authorized committees of the CSCA or by the CSCA Board of Directors. Any surveys posted on the website must be approved in advance by the CSCA Board of Directors and must maintain the confidentiality of the members of CSCA. Funding necessary to add functionalities to the site at the request of a committee must be provided by the sponsoring committee.

C. Acceptable links
Acceptable links are those that are consistent with the general philosophy of promoting the community or providing a service to the members of the CSCA for the public and resident/member sections respectively. While the CSCA will take reasonable steps to ensure the appropriateness of linked sites, CSCA is not liable or responsible for the content of such sites. Links to external sites will be limited to cases where access to the linked sites provides a benefit to the community which is deemed to be greater than the benefit to the external site owner.

D. Responsibilities
Each CSCA committee is responsible for keeping information on their committee page current. committees should forward electronic copies of their monthly meeting minutes to the community manager for posting on the resident/member section of the website. Content of these minutes should be appropriate for viewing by the entire community.


E. Rights
The CSCA Board of Directors reserves the right to exclude content at its discretion. For example, it is the intent of CSCA not to post derogatory statements about individuals, groups or businesses. It is also the intent of CSCA that website content must be appropriate for all ages.


III. Privacy Policy/Confidentiality of Resident Information

Any information posted on the resident/member section of the website is meant for the express non-commercial purposes of members of the CSCA. Any items which mention names or other personal information cannot be used for commercial purposes and may not be divulged to non-members of the CSCA. CSCA will not sell or provide lists of residential information posted by residents to third parties.


IV. Advertising

Advertising will not be accepted on the website, except for advertising in the newsletter which incidentally appears on the website if the newsletter is posted on the website.
